Artwork
We are aware that designing your own artwork can be a difficult process, so please use the following guide. Alternatively, you can supply us with your assets (logo’s, text, pictures, graphics) and we can design it for you (providing a final proof before going to press).
Please use your preferred graphics programme to open the templates, we recommend either Adobe Photoshop (free trial available) or Adobe Illustrator (free trial available). Alternatively you can use Gimp (download) which is a completely free and simple open source graphics programme.
Design Templates
On Disc Print (Photoshop .psd)
On Disc Print (Adobe .pdf)
- Artwork must be created at a minimum of 300 dpi (not converted to 300 dpi from a lesser resolution).
- Final design must be supplied in a high resolution JPEG, TIFF, Photoshop .psd or Illustrator .ai. Created using the RGB colour plate not CMKY
- Artwork text must be at least 3mm from any edge
- Artwork text must be no less than 6-point size
- Please avoid using block colours i.e. black or any full-face background coverage. Maximum total ink coverage is 75%.
- Ensure your design continues past the edge of the grey outside disc mask
- Do not cut a hole in the middle of your CD/DVD design, or put any circles in to indicate the edge or hub of the CD/DVD.
- Make sure you turn off the mask and any guides that are present when you are flattening the image to a TIFF or JPEG. Final design should be a square TIFF or JPEG image with no masks.
- If you are unsure that you have done everything correctly, whether for the CD on-body design or any of the paper parts (booklets, inserts etc), send us a Photoshop file, Illustrator or a PDF with all the layers intact; we can then tweak it easily if needs be.
Colour Matching
We do not colour match for CD/DVD inlays and on body print for in house jobs. All jobs can expect a variance of up to ±5% in colour between artwork parts.
